Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day! We had a pretty low key day which was exactly the way I wanted it to be this year. I'm feeling pretty pregnant now-a-days so after church we all enjoyed a nap and then we hung out outside while Brian made dinner. After dinner we skyped with our families and found out that Camille is having a baby girl so Baby Gummy Bear will have another fun girl cousin her age! I also lucked out and my two favorite boys made me a Molten lava lemon cake which was pretty tasty!
I love being a mom to Carson and can't wait to be a mom again in a few weeks. . Even though it's hard sometimes, I can't think of anything more rewarding than being a mom and hearing your child tell you that they love you!
Kisses for mommy!

I love you!

Carson helping to make a cake for me! (Don't worry I didn't give Brian that black eye lol)

This is from last week but I love it! My two favorite reasons to smile!

Happy 27th Birthday Brian!

Brian turned old this week! To celebrate we've been doing lot's of fun stuff over the last few days.
On Saturday we went bowling as a family for Brian's bday (and also because we promised Carson we would go if he went poopy in the potty :) ) The boys had so much fun and Carson was so good at cheering for daddy when it was his turn.
Sunday we had friends over for cake and ice cream. I kept up with my tradition of making Brian a fun decorated cake. Brian has been aching for a camping trip lately but obviously that's not going to happen for a little while so I made him a camping themed cake which included a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. He thought it was pretty cool and hopefully it will hold him over until he can go camping in Montana lol! He also got to open one present early (I am the present nazi, or so I'm told) so he enjoyed playing his new Tiger Woods Kinect game all night.
Yesterday was his actual birthday and we were lucky enough to have friends who watched Carson for us while we went out for a romantic dinner. We went to a nice restaurant in town that we had never been to and it was so great! I hope it was the best 27th birthday that he has ever had! Love you Brian!

34 Weeks!

We had our 34 week appointment yesterday. Everything looks pretty good. My belly is measuring 2 weeks short still so they are going to do an ultrasound in the next 2 weeks to check if baby gummy bear is still doing ok. We took Carson with us this time and he loved hearing baby sister's heart beat. "WOW" I think he is getting excited for her to come. He keeps hugging my belly and rubbing it even more than usual. I have a thing about not calling the baby by name until it's born, just incase we change our mind but Carson has been calling her Luella, after his baby cousin that was born last month. I didn't want him to be confused so we finally taught him baby sister's name. Now he walks around talking about Harper Lottie and Carson Blaine. (We decided it's time for him to learn his full name too) It's so cute!
I've also been nesting alot the last few days. We had Carson at 37 weeks and I don't know if that will be the case this time but I don't want to leave anything to chance so I want to have everything ready by then.
I'm also still having cravings! ICEES are a must and I've also been on a strawberry kick. Strawberry angel food cake, strawberry freezer jam, strawberries dipped in caramel and I even made homemade strawberry syrup for our pancakes which was delicious! We are so excited for gummy bear to make her grand entrance!

I also had my baby baby shower this week. My great friend Mary threw it and it was so fun! We had homemade grilled pizza and lot's of yummy desserts that made this preggo's belly happy. We played some fun games including a contest of making babies out of playdough. It was so fun to have a girls night and also get lot's of cute stuff for gummy bear from all of our friends.

A night away!

We won a contest for a free night stay at the big casino up in Ruidoso. We weren't going to take Carson at first but since he is potty training we decided it would be a good idea to take him along. He was so excited that morning when I told him we were going to go swimming! After Brian got off of work we headed up to Ruidoso and ate at a nice italian restaurant and then headed to the hotel. While I checked in, Brian and Carson threw rocks into the man made lake there. Throwing rocks into water is one of Carson's favorite things to do so he had alot of fun. Once we got settled we headed to the pool. They had a nice pool and a huge hot tub with a little waterfall. Carson had a blast blowing bubbles, and going back and forth between the pool and the "bathtub". Afterwards we bundled up in the soft robes the hotel provided and watched a movie and stayed up way past Carson's bedtime. He thought it was pretty cool that he got to sleep in a queen size bed all by himself and he actually stayed in it all night. The only downside was that instead of waking up at his normal 8:30, he got up at 6:30, ouch! So we went to the breakfast buffet and then headed home where we took a 3 hour nap. It was alot of fun to have one last outing just the 3 of us.
Carson loved sitting out on the balcony over the lake.

and he spent most of his time playing in the waterfall.

Blowing bubbles

Getting warmed up with some snuggles!

It's a crappy pic but we had a full size mirror in our room and Carson spent a good amount of time standing in front of it singing at the top of his lungs. He's so silly!

A Weekend of Fun!

This weekend was the first in FOREVER that Brian didn't have homework to do. It was so nice! On Saturday we spent the day shopping in Las Cruces which was fun for me not so much for the boys. So on Sunday on Brian's request we took a drive up to the mountains. It was so nice to be up in the cool crisp mountain air, even the 40 degree weather didn't bother us. At first we didn't have a destination in mind but that made me nervous. (If you know my dad you will understand haha) so we thought about places to go and remembered our friends telling us about a fun little waterfall near Cloudcroft called Bluff Springs. We were skeptical because lets face it, this is New Mexico we are talking about but we were impressed. The waterfall was pretty and we had alot of fun exploring around it. Carson loved it, on the way home he kept saying that he had fun at the water. I think we will send grandma and grandpa up there with him while they're here in June. On our way home we were suprised to see elk, and lot's of them. We saw over 10 in 3 different spots, and also some mule deer and a turkey. It was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday!
checking out the view

Carson loved throwing rocks into the stream but he started grabbing dried cow poop thinking it was rocks, so we made him switch to sticks to be safe. yuck!

Having so much fun!

Doritos face! So cute!
